Site Preparation Procedures Prior to Installation
Following is basic information you or your builder will need to prepare your site for the installation of the Superior Wall System®. It is critical that your site be prepared properly PRIOR to the delivery of your walls.

Stone:
- Superior Walls must be installed on virgin soil
- Stone is 1/2 inch, clean, crushed (AASHTO #8 recommended), NO LARGER
- Stone is graded evenly and is level to within 1 inch
- Stone depth is at least 6 inches (minimum requirement)
- Stone covers entire area where walls are to be set and is level
- Excavation has at least a 2 foot over dig (minimum requirement)
- Excavation cannot exceed 7'6" in depth, excavation over 7'6" in depth must include a 24" bench
- Trenches are at least 32 inches wide (minimum requirement)
Corner PINS:
- Pins that define the building corners are in place
- Diagonal drawings from sales office
NOTE: Pins MUST be in place before walls will be set. Placement of corner pins is the responsibility of the customer.
Access to Site:
- Trucks have a minimum clearance of 10' wide by 60' long from all objects (trees, wires or structures)
- Entrance is at least 32 feet, drive is at least 12 feet, roadway is at least 22 feet (cannot be less—minimum requirements)
- Any sharp turns in driveway must be wide enough to accommodate tractor trailers
NOTE: We are coming to the job site with tractor trailers NOT straight trucks.
Trees and Wires:
- Trucks have a clearance of at least 14 feet (cannot be less—minimum requirement)
- Cranes must be at least 30 feet from the nearest wires (cannot be less—minimum requirement)
- Crane will not lift over wires, trees or existing structures.
- Look UP and around entire site—are there ANY overhead obstructions? (Yes / No)
NOTE: If yes, MUST contact sales office to discuss.
Cranes: 40 Ton is Supplied by Weaver Precast, Inc. (see note below)
- Crane pad is at least 30' x 50' (cannot be less—minimum requirement)
- Crane pad is flat, level, and compacted
- Crane must have stable footing to eliminate sinking
- Crane pad can have no more than a 2 foot pitch from front to rear
NOTE: Crane MUST stay at least 15' from edge of excavation. Weaver Precast utilizes a 40 ton crane with a maximum reach of 60'. Should site conditions require a larger crane, customer will be responsible for rental crane charges. Any questions, please discuss details with your sales office.
Equipment on Site
- Equipment is available either on site with an operator or on call within 1/2 hour
- Equipment is capable of pulling 80,000 lbs. (examples: backhoe, loader or bulldozer)
NOTES: It is the responsibility of the builder or homeowner to provide this equipment and does not include things like garden tractors etc.
MUDDY conditions and steep grades REQUIRE equipment capable of pulling 80,000 lbs. Site conditions may change at a moments notice.
If equipment is not readily available, customer will be billed for the amount of time that the truck, crane, and crew wait for equipment.
