Weaver Precast Unveils Industry's Latest Foundation Technology With New Xi Wall

Ephrata, PA — Weaver Precast Inc., the country's oldest and largest provider of the Superior Walls™ precast foundation system, announces the new Xi™ Wall by Superior Walls. This new foundation system features extra strength and more than double the built-in insulation power of the original revolutionary Superior Walls precast system.

Xi Walls feature vast improvements in energy efficiency arriving at the new home site with 2.5 inches of continuous insulation for a rating of R12.5, easily increased to R31.5 using convenient cavities between the studs. This new design has all of the features of the original R-5 wall in addition to increased insulation. Built-in DOW™ insulation increases energy-efficiency right from the factory. Another improved feature of the Xi Wall is the galvanized steel stud facings, which have replaced treated wood nailers. The new wall is monolithically poured with high-strength concrete for solid structural integrity, and reinforced with steel rebar and polypropylene fibers. Insulation of corners, studs and beams is another improvement. Special engineering makes the wall thermally isolated and insulated from the exterior—a feature that is sure to appeal to homeowners looking for a warm, dry basement. The Xi foundation meets or exceeds energy conservation requirements for builders from both the IECC and IRC. No additional damp-proofing is required for this high-strength, low-water concrete mix. Xi Walls also carries the Superior Walls' 15-year guarantee, ensuring quality and long-term durability for builders and homeowners.

Each Xi Wall is custom manufactured and designed, complete with built-in openings for windows and doors. Superior Walls also feature easy conversion to finished living space. In addition to being pre-insulated, the walls have smart stud facings for easy drywall insulation and pre-engineered access for wiring or small plumbing. As always, factory precast technology allows Xi builders to continue installing custom foundations in virtually any weather.
