Stoltzfus Homes
Building On Relationships
Elam G. Stoltzfus, Jr.as a young manestablished his home building business in 1968, "with a wheelbarrow and one helper." A firm believer in everyone's right to pursue the American Dream, Stoltzfus was dedicated to developing new homes and, at the same time, preserving enough land and farms for all to enjoy. Success was built on hard work and conscientious people who also believed in the client's right to superior value, design, and service.
The company has continued to grow by leaps and bounds. According to Brent Stoltzfus, president, the company has expanded because of their relationships with their clients and their team of dedicated employees. This success has evolved into diversification within the company, including the addition of two new divisions.
The full-time responsibility of employee John K. Epp is that of manager of residential remodeling projects. This diversity from new home construction allows Stoltzfus to continue serving their customers after the initial home is built by doing add-ons, finishing basements, and renovating, to keep a home current with the occupants' needs. People choose a location in which to build and come to love it. Adding on or renovating is more and more a choice homeowners are making. The experience should be a pleasant one rather than a disruption of daily life. Epp and his team deliver that satisfaction.
"I was extremely pleased with the entire job from the project manager through the job superintendent. They and the subcontractors did a beautiful job with no inconvenience to me and in a very courteous and businesslike manner. I will be happy to recommend your company to anyone for any type of construction project." Peter H., Lancaster
The second full-time division that has grown is Commercial Construction, headed by Paul Lewandowski. This includes a new construction and adaptive reuse of old buildings such as warehouses. The team in the commercial division have knowledge in PHFA projects, historic tax credit projects, and build-outs. Some of the most recent commercial projects in Lancaster County include the Fuddruckers Restaurant on Lincoln Highway East; the Rothsville Medical Center in Rothsville; and the American Cancer Society building off Marietta Pike in East Hempfield Township. Business owners have come to trust their investments to E.G. Stoltzfus, Jr., Inc.
Home building is the mainstay division of E.G. Stoltzfus, Jr., Inc. Their focus on the importance of style, design, and attention to detail is basic at any price range of home they build. Scattered-site custom home sales are led by Larry Sheckler, new home sales manager, and community projects are overseen by Construction Manager Andy Toms.
As the company grows in each division and expands geographically into areas as far as Harrisburg's west shore and to Berks and Chester Counties on the east, the awareness of the level of commitment to every individual customer is the focus of each employee. As Brent Stoltzfus put it: "That is the bottom linecommitment. Everyone is on the same page with this. We talk about it and live it every day, every week, every year. When our past clients have further building needs they can rely on the relationship they have developed with us. We have clients for whom we have built a new home, remodeled it, and then built a commercial building for their business. People appreciate the relationship we represent as well as the one-stop shopping."
